Liberating Word: Changing the world is a daily struggle. In part, it is a struggle to keep the world and the dominant culture from changing us. While they do not reflect the faith of the majority of Americans, fundamentalists have succeeded in commandeering the public discourse. The result is that they have become the ones to define orthodoxy and, to a large extent, faith itself. 
Sarah Morice Brubaker a self-described seminary instructor and other-described gender cop who embodies all that is wrong with seminary education. She is an Instructor in Theology at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She considers her own teaching most successful when students teach each other, in response to being confronted with a shared problem or task which she has helped to initiate. She is generally disinclined, in teaching, to position herself as the Cool Erudite Smartypants Expert at the front of the room. 
Troy Bronsink is an artist and a pastor seeking the way of Jesus. He and his wife, Kelley, and daughter, Eve, live in the Capitol View neighborhood of downtown Atlanta, where they work in community organizing and public education. Troy is a Presbyterian USA minister with 10 years of experience in youth ministry and as senior pastor, a worship leadership and singer-songwriter in both the mainline and para-church worlds. 
The Rev. J. Carl Gregg (M.Div., B.A.) is a New York Times-reading, vegetarian-eating progressive Christian, who also loves Centering Prayer, ultimate frisbee, and praying-by-biking-to-work. Carl has been the pastor of Broadview Church in Chesapeake Beach, Maryland since July 2010.
